IIm a firm believer that you don't need drugs/alcohol to have a good time. With that being said HannaBeth, her mom Hayley and Bori Mischief (owner of Mischief, Masked, & Glamosaurs Clothing) have created a clothing line with "Sobriety" being its theme. The back story is that Hanna's mom is two years sober and she created this line in support, 5% of each sale will go to a select charity.

The second edition of my post on things I like and collect, this one specifically being watches! Here are a few pieces that would fit nicely in the collection.

Nixon: The Trader
The Trader is predominantly black with a shiny finish and features a titanium carbide coated case. Waterproof to a depth of 200 meters, each scratch resistant body is individually numbered on the reverse. Again composed from a custom titanium carbide coated stainless steal, the band is to be fastened with a double locking butterfly clasp and inter-changeable PU band complete with stainless steel buckle. The 7 hand watch includes a Swiss quartz chronograph to illustrate the day, date and month.

Movado’s Bauhaus-inspired Master watch enjoys a slick PVD colorway seen here. The 45mm watch case includes sapphire crystals and water resistance to 300 meters. The watch’s understated face includes Swiss produced movement and a tonal black on black colorway. Available now through retailers with a suggested retail price of $3,495 USD.

Italian label Tendence has just released this pair of Gulliver watches. Perfectly round, each model has a modest elegance and features a restrained, modern design. Working with both a regular and oversized silhouette, the latter is complete with a pair of neat dials. Priced at 3,199HKD (Approx. $410) and 4,299 HKD (Approx. $550) respectively, each is now available through select stockists including I.T.

Casio has once again combined with Japanese anime franchise Evangelion to produce an outlandish G-SHOCK watch. The pair have again chosen to work on the popular GA-110 model but have this time opted for a more intricate colorway. Decorated with various bright colors, the watch face is complex and futuristic; featuring all the usual technical aspects enjoyed by the GA-110. Expect a release soon from select retailers.

In the Eastern hemisphere, it’s an all too common site to see matching couples clad head to toe in similar apparel and fashion. Playing on this culturally accepted trend, CASIO G-SHOCK create a special 2010 Christmas “Lover’s” collection of watches. The reliable DW-5600 in either Baby-G (for women) and the G-SHOCK is seen in pink with a black LCD screen. A release is set for November 27th through select retailers with a retail price of ¥ 23,625 JPY or $293 USD.

After a bit of a break with specific color themes, CASIO G-SHOCK release a new pack of technical watches titled the “Burning Red” collection. The range features four watches including the DW-6900, GW-7900, GW-9200 and the GWF-1000. Each watch features a bright red body with black highlights and a reverse LCD display. Available starting November at select retailers.

Unveiled at the recent Korean Formula 1 Grand Prix, you’re looking at the latest creation from luxury watch connoisseurs, Hublot. The F1 King Power Gold is the 3rd official watch released as part of the brand’s “Official Timekeeper of Formula 1” collection which was commenced earlier this year. The watch is intricately detailed with a ceramic brake disc-style bezel, 48mm “King Gold” case, black PVD titanium chronograph pushers with red rubber inserts, black rubber and Nomex strap with red stitching and a matching deployant buckle. The watch has been limited to just 250 pieces, each of which has been individually numbered.

Offered is a look into the upcoming Panerai PAM 386, a silhouette set to see an official debut at the Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie (SIHH) in Geneva, Switzerland. Surely a hit amongst Panerai enthusiasts, this release from the Italian watchmaker offers a nice follow up to the Panerai Radiomir Composite PAM 339. Details include a 44mm brown composite case, brown dial with Arabic numerals and luminous hour markers, and an aged leather strap with matching large composite buckle, amongst many others. A bit more insight/specs into the piece is offered here.

This is really hilarious a very popular Fashion Publicist has a twitter account that basically calls out all the "Bullshit" in the Fashion Industry. The account @NoBtotheS [No Bullshit] as this column on Fashionista.Com: Annoying Habits of People In The Fashion Industry. However its not know who this person is lol!

1. They put the fun in trust fund: It took me a while to get wise to the fact that half of you come from wealthy backgrounds (rock legend patronage, heir to publishing giant, luxury goods parent company, and frozen food giant, etc, etc) and thus have the freedom to accept a position with a starting pay of $25k…the rest of you just marry well.

2. Overwhelming sense of entitlement:
Here’s the thing; you’re not fooling anyone! All I have to do is search your name in entourage to see that you haven’t responded to my last DOZEN or so emails. But now that you want something (event invite, discount or a freebie) we are suddenly friends of the bosom.
3. Editors that don’t actually, you know, EDIT: Calling in half a season’s worth of full looks makes you look like an idiot who doesn’t know what you’re doing. Good editors know EXACTLY what will work and will only call in just that- God love ya.
4. Gifting: Editors are constantly plied with gifts including electronics, trips and spa visits, not to mention the free drinks and dinners with PRs and the stacks of clothing and accessories they receive each season. In my time as a PR, I can count on one hand the number of thank you notes (emails don’t count) that I’ve received from editors after sending gifts. If you don’t like it, give it to an assistant or intern! But good manners are always in style.
5. Fashion Week Tantrums: I only have so much control over seating charts! At the end of the day, if my client says that her Pepaw needs a seat in the front row, that means I have to boot someone to second. It’s simply the nature of the beast, so PLEASE stop sending me vaguely threatening emails bitching about your assignment. At the end of the day, you’ll be in that seat for no more than 20 minutes, so just deal, ok?
6. Half of you look sickly: I get it–we work in an image-based industry. I’m the first person to start a juice fast the moment I don’t fit into a sample, but come on. From the back you look like a school aged boy! This isn’t good! We cater press events for a reason…it’s because we’re worried about your health. So, take a cookie. I promise it won’t kill you.
7. Editors-turned-designers: Man. There are so many of you cropping up these days I can hardly keep it straight! Truth be told, I’m only actually interested in your wares if you are reciprocating the love and gifting ME for a change.
8. BCC is called BLIND for a reason: The misuse of BCC is rampant these days. Just please make sure when sending out your Moving On email, you use the correct field. Although, it IS amusing to see who else you emailed.
9. Constant complaints about late nights: Umm, so you know when you’re working late and stalking my life trying to confirm looks? And you know when I respond right away? Yeah, see, if you’re working, then so am I. It’s a vicious cycle, you see. So, enough with the belly aching already.
10. Silent treatment: This goes back to point #2. If I’m pitching you something you have no interest in, just tell me you’re passing! Not responding at all means I then have to stalk you, and that’s beneath us both. Also during press previews, if you aren’t reacting well to the collection, please say so! Your feedback is invaluable information I can pass along to my client. And again, I won’t have to follow up incessantly regarding a collection I know you have no intention of pulling.
Phew! That is all. Til next week!

Fashism, a social shopping site and mobile application, has gained a following for letting its users get instantaneous feedback from fellow fashionistas on ensembles and clothing items they want to purchase.
This reminds me of a hybrid between Lookbook Nu and The Wardrobe Program/Game Cher had in Clueless! I think its a great concept, since everything revolves around the internet. Its a great way for people to connect through the love of Fashion and Shopping LOL!

Great taste, a solid camera, a little charm, and some handy html know-how...yes, it takes way more than just that to become a style blogger. The internet's become inundated with thousands of Dot Coms of the style persuasion, and your blog's gotta have some serious mojo in order to be the next Style Rookie, Sea of Shoes, or Fashion Toast. But, that's not to say that there isn't a certain recipe for success—in fact, we've mapped out a step-by-step guide to taking the style blogger world by storm AND rising to the top. Here's how! Via Refinery29
Funny thing is a few of these apply to me but there a combination of each column lol! Although my goal is not necessarily to be a "Star Style Blogger" I thought this was pretty spot on.

I've been a fan of Travis' since around 2006 when he was in the group NLT, four years later and I'm still a fan. He's currently gearing up his new mixtape "Last Man Standing" not quite sure if "All About You" is the first single or just something to hold the fans over until the official release.

I know this interview is a little old [came out in September] but I can't resist being that I'm still in awe at the fact of meeting him! In the mag Marc is being interviewed by his longtime friend/business partner Robert Duffy.

Here's an excerpt:
DUFFY: One of the questions that most of them asked—because you have become such a celebrity and have courted the media for a long time—is whether that approach to fame ever backfired?

JACOBS: It’s funny to do this with you because you already know all my answers. But there was a whole period where I was very happy to stay in. I was in my studio for many hours a day—sometimes working and sometimes sleeping. But when I went through this physical transformation and my diet changed and I went to the gym, I felt much more confident about myself. I like being out there. As I’ve said before, I love attention. Sometimes that attention is great, like when we get attention for doing a great show or our sales are good or even attention for walking down the street and looking sexy. That’s all great. But unfortunately along with that comes a lot of negative comments: “Oh, we miss the old Marc.” “It was much better when he was grungy.” Da, da, da, da . . . Sometimes it hurts my feelings, but basically I’m really happy with the attention that we get. It’s more work-related than what I’m going through in my personal life. If people weren’t interested in the work then they wouldn’t really care about my personal life. So I think about it logically. The attention toward me is basically because of what we’ve built as a company. If we built a pile of crap then nobody would care what I ate for lunch. We live in a world where people are really hungry for information, and they’re not hungry for information on subjects that they’re not interested in.

DUFFY: That’s probably true. Here’s a question that you’re probably going to find lame but I’m going to ask you anyway. What is your honest take on New York fashion?

JACOBS: I feel like you and I have always felt a little bit outside of a community, or at least, speaking for myself, I have felt like that. There are other designers there who I respect in terms of their work, but I feel like we operate in our own world. We’ve never followed the same path, like, to show at the tents or have a store in a certain neighborhood. We’ve always followed the beat of our own drum. We moved downtown before other people did and we showed at the Armory while everyone else was showing at one central location. I don’t think we did it to be rebellious. We just did what we wanted to do. I can’t speak for the rest of New York. I just feel we are always at our best when we do what instinctively feels right . . . I’m very good at sidestepping questions. [laughs]

DUFFY: We both work at Louis Vuitton and Marc Jacobs. People want to know if there is a conflict of interest in designing those separate brands. Do you prefer one over another? How do you keep them separate?

JACOBS: First of all there are two separate teams, so even if we have the same impulses within a given season, the ways they manifest themselves are so different. And, secondly, geographically they are in two different places. New York is where I was born and raised for most of my life. I think there’s a personal connection to New York. It’s a more personal place for me, so the momentum, the energy, and the attitude has a bit more of a romantic nature to it. Paris is more like fantasy. Also, with Marc Jacobs we have more autonomy over where things go after the show—for our shops and with the ads. Whereas at Vuitton, it only goes as far as the show and then it’s in everyone else’s hands.

DUFFY: It’ll still be there at this point. As for Bookmarc, there was always the Biography Bookstore on that corner, and they were moving because the lease was up. We didn’t force them out or anything like that. I’ve been living in the village for 30 years now. I’ve always wanted there to be a bookstore on that corner, so that’s why I took the lease. And that’s why we’re opening the bookstore.
JACOBS: I’m very excited about Bookmarc.
DUFFY: Back to my asking you. What would it take for you to feel as if you’d sold out as a designer?

JACOBS: If we didn’t believe in what we did, then I would feel that we sold out. As long as we do things with integrity and believe in them and are passionate, I don’t think we’ve sold out. Whether it’s an $11 flip-flop or a $2 key ring or a $2,000 dress, they’re all done with integrity. They’re all done with a design sense. As long as the creativity exists, then I don’t think it’s a sellout. A sellout is putting your name on any piece of crap and then expecting people to buy it because it’s got your name on it. That’s what a sellout is to me.

Silly Thing x Bedwin & The Heartbreakers Waterproof Notebooks

I can remember back to my child always having a thing for a notebook & pen [must have been the creative in me]. Everytime I would go to the store with my mom she would say go pick out a toy and I would come back with a notebook and pen. Till this day I still carry them religiously [aside for having schoolwork] Here are a few note/sketchbook for those creative individuals

I will be adding this to my long line of increasing camera equipment. As many of you know I've been taking a Black & White Photography class and have invested in some essential equipment for it including a [Nikon F100, Tripod, 50mm lens] more to come of course. But aside from the class Im also using my Nikon D50 which I love :-) As most photographers would say Its often a painful task to carry all your equipment around and set it up. Most recently I've found myself recording and taking still shots with my iPhone 4 because of convenience, its always with me & there's no painful set up lol! So this X Shot Tripod x iPhone case is a savior [no more standing around holding my phone] just set it up than go $25 dollars is a lot better and carpal tunnel.

I've been working on a design of "Cause and Effect" for my printmaking class and I decided to make a few t-shirts. The design is in the form of a Propaganda Poster: saying "Its Better To Fight, Someone Else's War. Than To Be A Sellout" which in turn is an oxymoron!! It took me a while to figure out exactly what I was going to say and I chose this one because it has several meanings [rather than just the obvious one]. Never sacrifice yourself/craft/integrity for anyone, stand true to yourself and never be a SELLOUT. I nearly completed my design project but there are still a few tweeks to be made for the shirts.

With the many aspects of design Its always great to see as behind the scenes of how certain things get made. Makes for a better look at the creative process. Since I changed my major to Printmaking I have a appreciation for this. There is nothing like seeing some you created come to life [with this knowledge I wont have to outsource to get my products made]. Even though some say don't do everything yourself lol!

Honoring the legacy of the King of Pop Epic Records and the Estate of Michael Jackson are preparing the release his highly-anticipated new album Michael, composed of previously unheard music. The official cover artwork has now been unveiled. Kadir Nelson created an impressive oil painting that highlights the most important moments and people throughout MJ’s life. The ambitious project is slated for a December 14 release. A teaser will appear tomorrow on MichaelJackson.com, whereas the first single “Breaking News” – which was recorded back in 2007 – premieres Monday, November 8th.
I will be adding this to my collection [im hoping that all the songs are him singing] but if not, it will be nice to have some new MJ music.

James Bond: The Visions of Beckham from hypebeast.tv on Vimeo.

Having been a long-serving member and part founder of UNDFTD, James Bond knows more than his fair share of sneakers and sportswear. Despite being only a few seasons deep, the James Bond for David Beckham adidas Originals by Originals collection has firmly entrenched itself in style and design language amongst the likes of Jeremy Scott and Kazuki Kuraishi. Upon a recent launch at Selfridges, we caught up with James Bond regarding his involvement and the goal of the capsule.

Design Inspiration

The collection they were able to put together for this line is great. It just goes to show that if the right people are involved anyone can pull off a ready to wear x affordable collection with great quality. I've always loved adidas especially the "Shell Toe's" thanks to Run-DMC of course!

When I first started working on this book, I told my editor that I wanted it to do three important things. The first was to make the case that hip-hop lyrics—not just my lyrics, but those of every great MC—are poetry if you look at them closely enough. The second was I wanted the book to tell a little bit of the story of my generation, to show the context for the choices we made at a violent and chaotic crossroads in recent history. And the third piece was that I wanted the book to show how hip-hop created a way to take a very specific and powerful experience and turn it into a story that everyone in the world could feel and relate to.

I might have to add this to my wish list, looks like a good read!

It should be known that I have many interest and because of that I recently purchased this M-Audio Axiom 25 Midi Controller. Not completely random of course, but my first love has always been music [at one point I was in a group, was a song writer & dabbled in production]. I just joined up with a production company run by some friends of mine [as I am no longer affiliated with my previous partnership] I feel this one is a little more my speed.

Fanatik Productions is a collective of USC students who specialize in design, photography, film's [shorts, and commerical] & music. That's where this lovely piece of equipment comes into play! So with that being said I will keep you all posted with my progress of this machine, my future music productions & Fantaik Productions! I will be posting some of our Film Shorts Soon!

IN THE BAG: Along with all the renovations, beauty installations and designer shops added in the past years, there’s another new look at Bloomingdale’s — limited edition designer shopping bags. They’re created by Tory Burch, Elie Tahari, Marc Jacobs, Zac Posen and Michael Kors to commemorate the 59th Street flagship’s multiyear overhaul and will start being distributed early next month on days when each designer gets spotlighted in the store. It’s all part of Bloomingdale’s current campaign, Check It Out, geared to flag Bloomingdale’s new shops and updated B-way, and get another lift to the business through designer appearances and shopping events.

This makes me want to shop at Bloomingdale's just for the bag, I'm excited to see the other designs.
